About the Project
Muscat University construction work started during December 2016, and completed in 2017. Initially designed for a shopping complex, later converted to Private University, Located in Ghoubra opposite LULU Avenue mall.
Interior & Exterior products used and why
Interior: AR Primer, Berger Decora Stucco Putty & Top coated with Select Interior Emulsion.
Exterior: :(1) Weathercoat Flex Primer & Weathercoat Flex Tex Ultra
High thickness to cover maximum undulation on external surface.
Challenges
The site is located close to the sea face and close to the Ghubrah Desalination plant. One of the design challenges was in recommending an external finish which would have excellent anti-carbonation, crack-bridging, high water vapour transmission and breathability properties. The other feature looked for was a water based external system that would be able to mask high surface undulations. To meet these requirements, Asian Paints Berger proposed using the Weathercoat Flex Tex range of finishes.
