Epilux 58

A polyamide-cured epoxy, reinforced with micaceous iron oxide for use as a build coat or intermediate coat in challenging environments.

Epilux 58 is designed for galvanised iron surfaces, particularly in industrial and offshore settings. This polyamide-cured epoxy finish coat is fortified with micaceous iron oxide, a compound that is one of the highest performing barrier pigments. It offers excellent resistance to UV, abrasion, chemicals and moisture. Epilux 58 is the perfect protective coating, especially when paired with the right system.

Surface preparation Blast clean and prime the surface with Epilux primer. Remove wax, oil and grease with a solvent cleaner. Remove weld spatter if necessary, rounding off all rough weld seams and sharp edges till surface is smooth. Fill or treat surface defects.

Application procedure Apply 2 coats of Epilux 58 with an airless spray. If required, overcoat it with the recommended coating as per system chosen. Use an airless spary or conventional spray. A brush or roller should be used only for difficult shapes or touching up.

Tips Stir the contents thoroughly and apply evenly. Use the thinned mixture immediately.
